What Kind Of Speed Improvements Should You Expect?
I commonly get this question when people are thinking about joining the program. “How much faster can I expect to get” or “What kind of top speed results can you guarantee?”
This obvious answer here is it depends. There is a lot of possibilities in terms of speed improvement that can be achieved based on where you are as an athlete.
From my own personal experience within about 5 years I have help coach 15 athletes to reach 20mph or higher. Additionally, I coached Justin Collins when he was running around 4.48 to help him get to 4.30 in the 40 yard dash. Then I worked briefly with Ferdinand Omanyala who briefly after ran a 9.85 100m, which at the time was the fastest 100m in 2022.
Now there are differences in results depending on the amount of fast twitch muscle fibers, size, strength, running experience, etc. On top of that, I do not know from the beginning how committed you will be to the program.
Will you follow the strength training and the speed workouts?
Will you be consistent in sending in your speed training breakdowns?
